Would You Send Your AI Agent to Do Your Performance Review?

It sounds like a joke until you realize it's already happening: people using AI agents to write their performance reviews, and their bosses using AI agents to evaluate them. In the latest Culture Talks, Dave McCauley and I dig into where the line should be - and Dave doesn't hold back. "If I have to have a difficult conversation and I'm not comfortable having it, and I just have my agent do it, then I'm not growing, you're not growing."
His argument: as long as humans are working together, humans need to be the ones delivering hard truths, not an outsourced chatbot.
The second half of the episode shifts to a concept Lorne has used to drive major organizational change: identifying "organization influencers," the informal, trusted voices inside a company who shape opinion far more than the org chart suggests. Dave calls his version "check engine lights" - the people who tell you what executives don't want to hear, and who you ignore at your own risk.
Watch or listen to the full episode for the "check engine light" framework and why I’m sending my AI agent to check out Dave's.
