Imagine being a six-year-old boy in 1956, riding a rural bus to school for the first time. The crowded bus had only one empty seat, next to a girl that no one would sit next to. When this boy took this seat, the other kids laughed at them. In 2022, he is still bothered when he remembers this example of extreme lack of Belonging.
